Our 21st June Meeting

July 6, 2015

Susan’s Report on the Meeting

Waverley Writers of FOWL held its 5th meeting on Sunday 21st June, 2-4pm, in the Theory Room in Waverley Library. Again, we had 13 attendees for this meeting. (We now have about 22 members overall.) We held a very successful feedback session at the meeting, with 7 members able to read and receive advice.

There were 2 new faces there, one of them having read about us in the foyer at Waverley Library. Once again, Dina Davis handed out the relevant forms to enable these new members to join the library and FOWL.

Anne Skyvington convened the meeting, and all of the participants who read were able to get valuable feedback. The 2 members who missed out were reassured that they will go first at the July meeting. There were 2 poems among our prose feast, both of which were received with enthusiasm.

On the day, we had to repeat the rule that members should bring 1000 words or less in order to enable all participants to have the opportunity to read.

We are looking forward to our next meeting, which will be on Sunday, 19th July, 2015. Again, it will be a feedback session.

We are also looking forward to hearing some good news about our much-anticipated poster, which Jody has kindly been taking care of.
